Last night Student United Way went on our Agency Tour of the semester, where we get to hear from different agencies that are under United Way. We started at The
Office on Children and Youth and learned about the survey research they do on teens in the area.
After the OCY, we heard from the
Valley Program for Aging Services and their many services they offer to elderly, including senior centers and Meals on Wheels. Then we toured Caregivers Community Networks, which has a class of nursing students visit a family's home in order to give the caregiver some time for their own needs. Finally, we toured the Gus Bus (pictured below) and heard about their great program of encouraging children to read more.
